I have spent fifteen years on infrastructure and energy deals — advising on them, investing in them and developing them. Transport and social infrastructure, wind power generation and battery energy storage, across three continents. London.
I started in infrastructure advisory in London, and have since worked across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Americas and the Middle East — first as an adviser, then as an investor, then as a developer.
Along the way I have learned the things a model can’t tell you: how regulators think, where grid connections stall, what a counterparty needs before it will sign. Lately I have been asking a different question: what AI and robotics will do to the economics of the assets I know best — and to where the capital goes next.
I am building an agentic origination engine for care-home M&A across Europe. European care is a sector in transition. An older, more complex patient base, fragmented ownership and the arrival of automation and AI are driving a new wave of consolidation. For four years I developed renewable projects myself, which taught me the parts of a deal an adviser rarely sees. I put together a 215 MW onshore wind and battery storage portfolio in Moldova, and originated an offshore wind portfolio in the Black Sea, in Romania and Bulgaria. I worked with the transmission system operator and regulators to secure grid connections for 140 MW of wind and 10 MW of storage, and negotiated the sale of 70 MW of wind and 10 MW / 40 MWh of storage to incoming investors.
Offshore wind origination in Poland and South Korea. I sourced JV and partnership relationships, coordinated legal, technical and commercial due diligence, reviewed the financial models and bid sensitivities behind multi-gigawatt offshore wind investments, and helped prepare papers for investment committee.
I led bids and financial advisory on more than US$10bn of transport and social infrastructure M&A and PPP: airport portfolios in Japan and the Philippines, commuter and light rail in the Philippines, a toll road in Indonesia, and healthcare PPPs in the Middle East.
Investing Macquarie Group’s own balance sheet: we acquired an onshore wind developer in Japan together with its team, invested in the first offshore wind farm in Asia outside China (120 MW, Taiwan), and sold part of a development interest in a 3 GW offshore portfolio. I supported valuation, SPA and JDA negotiations and investment committee approvals, including in waste-to-energy.
Airport investment advisory — 40 airports across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Working for investors, lenders and operators, I supported valuations and due diligence on airport M&A, expansions, PPPs and concessions, from Brazil and the US to Portugal, France, the UK, Sweden, Montenegro, Japan and Oman.
I have worked on deals as an adviser, an investor, a seller and a developer.
